Ifeanyi: Police free six of Davido’s workers, detain two
The Lagos police have released six of Davido’s domestic workers and detained two others for further investigation.
Ifeanyi Adeleke, Davido’s son with his fiancee Chioma Rowland, was said to have drowned in a swimming pool on October 31.
It was gathered that the incident happened within Davido’s residence in the Banana Island highbrow of Lagos.
The three-year-old was said to have been rushed to a hospital in Lekki where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
It was also said that Davido had left for the US and Chioma for Ibadan, leaving Ifeanyi with a domestic assistant.
Following Ifeanyi’s death, the police interrogated about eight domestic workers, including his nanny and his cook.
Ben Hundeyin, the Lagos police PRO, confirmed Wednesday that six had been released.
“Nobody was arrested. Of the people that were brought in for questioning, six were allowed to go while two are still with us, assisting with the investigation. There’s no update other than that investigation is still ongoing,” he said.
Ifeanyi Adeleke was born on October 20, 2019, although Davido and Chioma have not yet officially tied the knot.
In the past two years, the singer and his girlfriend have been under public scrutiny over their relationship.
Davido proposed to Chioma in September 2019 after the couple put together a low-key introduction ceremony.
They thereafter announced marriage plans but would later postpone the wedding.
Their relationship temporarily hit the rocks in March 2021 amid rumours that Davido had an affair with a model.
Davido and Chioma appeared to have reunited in October 2022, hinting that their wedding had been set for 2023.
