Breaking: Hope for Nigerian Youths as PLF Signs MoU With NIPSS, Kuru

• Princeton Leadership Forum signs MoU with National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS)

The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS on Tuesday November 16th signed a memorandum of understanding with Princeton Leadership Forum (PLF) a youth based leadership organisation.

The memorandum of understanding guarantees a two weeks Transformational Youth Leadership Course (TYLC) for the Nigerian Youths. Participants for the two weeks course will be drawn from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

The MoU was signed by the Acting Director General of the National Institute Brig Gen CFJ Udaya, (rtd), plsc (+), min and the President of the Princeton Leadership Forum (PLF) Dr. Chibuike Echem, plsc.

Present at the signing ceremony were Prof O.J Para-Mallam (Director of Studies), NIPSS, Wola-Adanlawo Ijoma (Mrs) Head of Legal, NIPSS and Princeton Leadership Forums team. The event took place at the headquarters of the National Institute in Kuru, Jos.

Speaking after the signing of the MoU, the former National Vice President, National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN and president Princeton Leadership Forum, Dr Chibuike Echem said that history has been made because this the first time the institute will open a course for the youths.

He said “History was today made as Princeton Leadership Forum (PLF) signs Memorandum of Understanding with the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru. This understanding guarantees a two weeks Transformational Youth Leadership Course (TYLC) for the Nigerian Youths. Participants for this two weeks course will be drawn from the 36 states of the federation and FCT, i am so happy” he said

The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (also called The National Institute or NIPSS) was established by Decree number 20 of 1979, now Cap N-51 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. The Institute was conceived as a high-level institution with the primary objectives of serving as the nation’s foremost policy think-tank to develop a crop of top-class technocrats of high intellectual capacity, who will conceptualise and anchor the implementation of innovative and dynamic policy initiatives and strategies, critical for national development.

The National institute serves as a high-level Centre for reflection, research and dialogue where, academics of excellence, seasoned policy initiators and executors and other citizens of mature experience and wisdom drawn from all walks of life, meet to reflect and exchange ideas on the great issues of society, particularly as they relate to Nigeria and Africa within the context of a constantly changing world.
