Gunmen abduct family member after collecting ₦8m ransom.
In the early hours of Sunday, suspected kidnappers invaded Garo town in Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State, abducting a young woman named Zainab after extorting ₦8 million from her family.
The attackers, about 10 in number, targeted the home of a well-known businessman, Alhaji Auwal, in Garo Sabuwar Unguwa around 1:20 a.m.

The head of the household pleaded for his family’s safety and handed over ₦8 million as demanded. Despite receiving the money, the kidnappers abducted the eldest daughter, a recent secondary school graduate, before fleeing.
The victim’s whereabouts remain unknown, as the kidnappers have not contacted the family since the incident.
The community is now gripped by fear, with residents urging authorities to address the rising insecurity.
Kano State Police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the incident, stating that an investigation has been launched to track down the culprits.
