Family of Four Killed in Tragic Accident on Abuja Road

A heartbreaking motor accident along the Akwanga-Abuja road has claimed the lives of an entire family of four. The tragic incident occurred on January 4, 2025, as the victims were returning to Abuja after spending the Christmas and New Year holidays in Makurdi.

The deceased were identified as Victor Angbiandoo Tyohemba, 37, an accountant, his wife, Erdoo Stephanie, and their two daughters, Agnes and Immaculate. They were travelling back to Abuja when the accident occurred.

Victor’s elder brother, Emmanuel Tyohemba, shared the devastating news during an interview on Tuesday. Emmanuel explained that the family had left Makurdi on a commercial vehicle heading to Abuja on Saturday, January 4. However, communication with them was lost that day, and repeated attempts to contact them failed.

“It was on Sunday, when we still hadn’t heard from them, that I started trying to locate which park in Makurdi they might have boarded a bus from,” Emmanuel explained. “Eventually, I found out that a bus heading to Abuja had been involved in an accident, and I later confirmed that it was the vehicle my family had been travelling in.”

Upon hearing the tragic news, Emmanuel quickly contacted the transport company and made arrangements to retrieve the bodies of his relatives. The bodies were subsequently brought to the family’s home in Igbor, where they were laid to rest on January 6, 2025.

Emmanuel expressed his grief and asked for sympathy from well-wishers, urging them to keep the family in their prayers during this deeply painful time. “We are devastated by the untimely loss of our loved ones, and we appreciate everyone’s support as we mourn,” he said.
