The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi has joined his ancestors.
Adeyemi joined his ancestors on Friday, at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti.
The remains of the Alaafin of Oyo has since been taken to his palace.
Here are some facts about the late monarch:
Adeyemi died at the age of 83 years.
The Alaafin of Oyo reigned for 52 years, making him the longest serving monarch in the State.
The late monarch is from the Alowodu Ruling House.
Oba Adeyemi succeeded Oba Gbadegesin Ladigbolu I in 1970.
The revered monarch is popularly refered to as Iku Baba Yeye.
Adeyemi is survived by several wives and children.
Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi will be buried by 4pm after burial rites have been concluded, Oyo Mesi says.
