BONA NAIJAThe Headquarters, Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI Maiduguri has said that the explosion of ordnance in one of its ammunition storage facilities located in the Barracks was due to the current high temperatures in Maiduguri.
The situation has however, been brought under control with the combined efforts of the Borno State Fire Service Department and other fire trucks from security agencies.
However the explosions has forced nearby residents in Fori, Mairi, and Gwange to evacuate. This incident, which occurred late April into early May 2025, has raised security concerns in the region.
