Maria Rosa Mystica Parish, Independence Layout, Enugu, officially launched the Holy Childhood Association (HCA) today, June 15, 2025, marking a significant step in strengthening the missionary formation of children within the parish.
The launch witnessed enthusiastic participation, with about 100 children indicating their interest in becoming members of the Association.
The Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Donatus Onuigbo, expressed his joy and appreciation for the successful animation/awareness. He extended heartfelt thanks to the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Callistus V.C. Onaga, for his visionary leadership in establishing the HCA across the diocese and making its presence compulsory in every parish.
Fr. Onuigbo also commended Rev. Fr. Francis Agu, Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS), for his outstanding work with children since his appointment. He further applauded the efforts of Rev. Sr. Sochinwe Chukwu, the HCA coordinator, for her dedicated and effective leadership in guiding the children of the parish.
The event marks a new chapter in the parish’s mission to nurture young Catholics in faith, service, and love for the Church’s missionary work.
