Enugu: Akwata Market Needs Urgent Govt. Attention ~ JONNYMANPUSH

JONNYMANPUSH a Non Governmental Organisation in Enugu State has called on Enugu State Government to look into the plight of Akwata Market traders.

The organisation made the call through the founder Comrade Chibuzo Onyeije after a fact finding visit to the Market.

“AKwata Market is the largest depot of food stocks in Enugu State under Enugu North local Government Area.It is Worrisome that Akwata Market is left the way it is today despite huge revenue generated by the market to Enugu North LGA”

“Akwata Market generates about 2 million naira daily through levies on shop owners , Trucks , Buses , Petty traders, Barrow pushers etc from our findings , yet the roads to the Market is nothing but a death trap.

We need to expand our markets as Ogbette market, Main market, New market, Akwata market even Coal Camp are all congested. We can create bigger markets in other areas to help expand Enugu urban like other cities in Nigeria.

We are calling on our Governor, Rt. Hon Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, a prayer answered to please swift into action before it is too late, as the bad road is beginning to course pandemonium outside the major Akwata road.”

In 2019 general election; Jonnymanpush campaigned and sensitized on voter registration and exercising our civic right during election. We equally campaigned on the need to vote the right candidates which Governor Ugwuanyi stood the best among others.

It is our duty as citizens to engage our government when they go wrong or forget what they should do that might jeopardize the lives of citizens.

We must support our Governor and government until their term is over.” He said.
