The Nigerian Female Basketball Team, popularly known as D’Tigeress, lost to the USA team in both teams’ final pre-Olympic exhibition.
The match, which was played on Sunday, 18 July 2021, ended in favour of the U.S team, who won 93-62 against the Nigerians, making it their first win in their pre-Olympic exhibition.
US Star A’ja Wilson scored 16 points while Breanna Stewart added 14 points to help the U.S. beat Nigeria in the Sunday match.
Atonye Nyingifa led the scoring charts for D’Tigeress with 9 points, while Elizabeth Williams scored 4 points.
The U.S. rebounded after dropping consecutive exhibition games for the first time since 2011 with losses to the WNBA All-Stars and Australia earlier this week.
