The Director General of the Tanzanian Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA), Mr. Charles Jackson and members of his delegation this afternoon, paid the Managing Director/CEO of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), Sen. Tijjani Yahaya Kaura, a business visit at OGFZA Office, Abuja
The EPZA DG expressed interest in understudying the uniqueness and modus operandi of OGFZA in comparison with the Tanzania Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA).
He also expressed interest in fostering a special business arrangement between OGFZA and EPZA, as well as to partner with OGFZA and exchange ideas on Free Zones management and operations
Responding to the EPZA DG, Sen. Tijjan thanked the delegation for the visit, and most importantly their keen interest in forging a partnership between the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA) and the Tanzanian Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA).
The OGFZA boss also reminded the delegation of Nigeria’s longstanding co-operation with Tanzania especially in the areas of politics and economy.
“Nigerian leaders played a huge role in supporting the then Tanzania Leader Julius Nyerere in the struggle for the economic and political emancipation of Africa from colonial rule.
When Tanzania eventually got its independence in 1961, Nigeria was amongst one of the first Countries that immediately established an embassy in Tanzania the following year (1962).
So our both countries we have had this longstanding co-operation, and am happy that EPZA delegation are equally interested in building on this co-operation for our mutual economic benefits.
OGFZA is willing to partner with EPZA and provide all necessary assistance that will strengthen the co-operation of our both agencies, and I look forward to future engagements between us”.
