Cubana Chief Priest To Forfeit ₦10m To FG, Campaign Against Naira Mutilation
The Federal High Court in Lagos has struck out the charge against celebrity bartender, Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, for alleged abuse of the naira. The decision was made after Cubana Chief Priest reached an out-of-court settlement with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to the terms of the settlement, Cubana Chief Priest will forfeit the sum of N10 million to the Federal Government. He will also enter into a bond with the EFCC to be of good behavior and never indulge in any economic and financial crimes or related offenses.

Additionally, he will engage in rigorous and intensive sensitization and/or campaign against the abuse of coins and notes issued under the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act as legal tender.
The EFCC had arraigned Cubana Chief Priest on April 17, 2024, on three counts of allegedly spraying and tampering with the Naira notes during a social event at the Eko Hotel in Lagos. He had pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of N10 million.
The terms of the settlement agreement were adopted by the trial judge, Justice Kehinde Ogundare, who consequently struck out the charge.
