Arsenal Women have stunned Barcelona Women 1-0 in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final, held at the Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon, Portugal.

Stina Blackstenius scored the winning goal in the 75th minute, latching onto Beth Mead’s reverse pass and firing a low diagonal shot past goalkeeper Cata Coll.

This historic win marks Arsenal’s second Women’s Champions League title, their first in 18 years, since their maiden title in 2007.

The Gunners, under Renee Slegers, withstood a barrage of Barcelona chances before Blackstenius’ decisive strike.

The team’s defense, anchored by goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar, kept a clean sheet, despite Barcelona’s dominance in possession and chances after the break.

This victory breaks Barcelona’s stranglehold on the Women’s Champions League title, with Lyon being the other dominant force. Arsenal’s win is a testament to their determination and skill, having already knocked out record title-holders Lyon in the semi-finals. The win also secures a direct spot for Arsenal in the next season’s league phase.
