After months of mounting anticipation and a steady stream of singles, Nigerian global superstar Burna Boy has officially released his eighth studio album titled No Sign of Weakness.
The new project comes on the heels of I Told Them, Burna’s 2023 album that not only dominated global charts but also earned him four Grammy nominations at the 2024 ceremony.
Among the standout tracks from that album were “City Boys,” which received a nod for Best African Music Performance, “Sittin’ on Top of the World” featuring 21 Savage, nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance, and the haunting “Alone,” which landed a nomination for Best Global Music Performance.
His hit “Higher” also earned him another Grammy nomination in the Best African Music Performance category.
With No Sign of Weakness, Burna Boy continues his genre-defying journey, blending Afrofusion with elements of hip-hop, rock, and soul. Spanning 16 tracks and clocking in at 47 minutes and 23 seconds, the album features an impressive yet minimalist guest list Belgian singer-producer Stromae, American-Nigerian country-hop sensation Shaboozey, American rap icon Travis Scott, and British rock legend Mick Jagger.
The rollout of the album has been anything but subtle. Burna Boy teased fans with several singles ahead of the album drop, including the high-energy “Bundle by Bundle,” the tender and melodic “Sweet Love,” and “TaTaTa,” a raucous collaboration with Travis Scott that quickly gained momentum upon release. Also notable is “Update,” which kept listeners buzzing with its rhythmic depth.
However, it was “Change Your Mind,” a deeply introspective duet with Shaboozey, that struck a different chord peeling back the layers of Burna Boy’s emotional landscape and reaffirming his mastery in storytelling through sound.
No Sign of Weakness is now available on all major streaming platforms.
