Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, has officially dismissed a student, Oladipupo Siwajuola, over a series of serious infractions, including drug peddling, impersonation, and engagement in fetish practices. This comes just weeks after the student was at the center of a high-profile “missing person” case that garnered attention on social media.
In an official statement released on Wednesday, the university’s Director of Marketing and Communication, Dr. Joshua Suleiman, confirmed the dismissal, stating that Siwajuola was found guilty of gross misconduct following a thorough disciplinary process. His offenses include illegal drug dealings on campus, unauthorized exit from the school premises, and the use of fetish materials—activities that violate both the university’s code of conduct and its faith-based values.
Contrary to allegations made by his mother on social media—claims that suggested university negligence—the institution clarified that Oladipupo voluntarily left the campus on April 28, 2025. Disguised in a hoodie, he reportedly exited through the university’s teaching hospital gate under the pretense of being an outpatient. He subsequently spent time in the local Ilishan community before relocating to Lagos, where he was eventually found at a friend’s residence.
Further investigations revealed startling admissions from the student. He allegedly confessed to involvement in “Yahoo Yahoo Plus,” a term for cyber fraud involving fetish rituals, as well as using another student’s identity to open a bank account. Siwajuola also took a ₦500,000 loan from an online platform to fund gambling activities.
“These revelations sharply contradicted his mother’s earlier narrative accusing the university of negligence,” Dr. Suleiman said, adding that the disciplinary process was fair and in line with global best practices.
The university expressed concern over the “malicious and misleading” accusations made by Siwajuola’s mother but chose not to pursue legal action out of respect for the cooperation shown by his father.
“As a faith-based institution, our priority remains the safety, moral integrity, and well-being of all our students,” the statement read, urging the public to support the university’s mission to instill values of integrity and accountability in its student body.
Babcock University confirmed that Siwajuola reserves the right to appeal the dismissal, as stipulated by the institution’s disciplinary guidelines.
