APC Enugu West Ready For State Congress – Stakeholders

The Leadership of the All Progressives Congress APC in Enugu West Senatorial Zone have enjoined the members of the Party from the zone, who wants to vie for positions during the State Congresses, to mobilise resources and get the forms that will qualify them, to contest.

Recall that the National Leadership of the All Progressives Congress had in a statement issued last week, through the National caretaker committee Secretary, Senator John Akpanudoedehe, approved October 2nd,as the Date for the state Congresses of the Party across the Federation.

Speaking to Newsmen after their Zonal meeting on Sunday, the Enugu West Zonal caretaker committee chairman of the Party, Hon Tony Ibekwe disclosed that the Party in Enugu West, want all their people, to buy forms as it is the only sine quo non that would show seriousness.

He posited that, APC in Enugu West are seriously working on the elected Ward Executives across the political wards in the zone, to enable their massive participation during the State Congress.

“We have resolved to go into the state Congress with one voice”

“Our target is to elect people with APC at heart, who would protect the Integrity of the Party with all they have”

“It is very important for all those who wants to contest some positions that were zoned to our Zone, to rush and get their forms and ensure that, all they follow the procedures enshrined in the state Congress guidelines to avoid disqualification”

“APC in Enugu West Senatorial Zone has always been the first and we intend to maintain that in the nearest future

” I enjoin all the elected Ward and local Government Executives as well as the State Delegates from our zone , to mobilise and unite in one force, to make our outing on October 2nd, to be a successful one”.

In his own remarks, the interim Organizing Secretary of the Party, pioneer State Deputy chairman and also, the Chairman Contact and Mobilisation of APC in Enugu State, who is the leading State Chairmanship aspirant, Comrade AC Ude, emphasised on the importance of unity amongst the legacy Party members that formed APC in the state ; as that would guarantee massive inclusion and abdicate any exclusion idea from those that joined the Party.

He also stated that legacy Party members that formed APC in Enugu State are still larger in number than any of the entrants from PDP, who came with almost zero supporters.

According to Comrade Ude “The State Congress is an avenue for us to give our Party a better direction by adding more success to it”

“The members of the legacy parties that formed APC in Enugu State needs to unite and fight our common enemy, which is those we accepted from PDP but are now seeing us as people without Value”

“When this Party was formed, we were very United and focused on taking the mantle of the state Government from the PDP because, they have failed woefully in delivering the dividends of Democracy”

Comrade Ude also stated that the Party will embark on another memrbership drive after the State Congress as well as Voters Sensitization to keep her members abreast with the current innovations in INEC about PVC registration and electronic voting ;as that would position the Party’s lion building take over move, to a better State.

In another development, the members of the legacy Parties that formed APC in Enugu State, has been told to be meticulous in all their activities with the new entrants from the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, as there is a plot, to oust them and make APC an extension of PDP in Enugu State.

Speaking with journalists in Enugu on Monday, the Publicity Secretary of the South East foremost political Group, The South East political Watchdog, Dr Jude Ezeh, Stated that the plan is to use some members of the party to hijack the Party and make it an extension of the PDP in Enugu.

He stated that, the plot is to confuse the National Leadership party that PDP key players will be joining the Party very soon ; a strategy he said, has been used to deceive APC members and cripple the Party since 2015.

He stated that leaders like some APC leaders has been using that strategy to perform cardinal anti Party activities in disguise.

He also wondered why the members of the legacy parties that formed APC in Enugu State would allow those, who he described as people with negative political values to bring seed of discord amongst them, so as to push them out of the Party.

According to him “We have been alerted by the plots of some leaders of APC in Enugu State to covert the Party, to an extension of the PDP”

“Their stories as it has always been is to pave way for their principal to join, an anthem that started some years ago, which they used to negotiate for 25% for Buhari in 2019 and got deceived”

“It is very unfortunate that the members of the legacy parties that formed APC in Enugu State are yet to learn their lessons and fight their common enemy; who are bent on frustrating them out of the Party”

“When APC was formed in Enugu, Chief Osita Okechukwu represented Cpc, Hon Emma Enukwu represented ANPP, Comrade AC Ude represented ACN while Barr Peter Okonkwo, represented APGA, why are they allowing people who fought them before outside the Party, to fight and win them again inside the Party? “
” Unless they unite, they will all crumble”

The South East political Watchdog also urged the Party Leadership to take the aspiration of Comrade AC Ude very serious because, he has the grassroot support and is the only aspirant so far from available information that, has gone round the 17 local Government Area, soliciting for support from the grassroot.

They also extolled the doggedity of Dr Ben Nwoye Leadership for being the only camp on ground with visible followers, who are making opposition a thing of repute in the South East zone “

“No matter the plan that the Party has, they must consider One Comrade AC Ude ‘s aspiration very serious, the man has the grassroot support and Command cult followership within the Party”

“The Party Leadership must take him serious and ensure that his interest and that of his followers are protected in what ever decision that they May want to take about state Congress, or risk disgrace at the poll”

“I commend Dr Ben Nwoye for his Leadership qualities and so far, as Far as APC Enugu State is concerned, he is the one on ground and any progressive fellow would always identify with him; for he has done a lot in projecting, promoting and sustaining the Party” he said.
