The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has placed a female passenger, Comfort Emmanson, on its ‘No Fly’ list indefinitely after she allegedly assaulted airline officials on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos.
The incident occurred on August 10, 2025, aboard flight Q9 303. In a statement released on Monday, AON spokesperson Prof. Obiora Okonkwo condemned the act, describing it as unacceptable and disruptive to flight operations.
“We condemn the violent incident involving Ms. Comfort Emmanson, a passenger on Ibom Air flight Q9 303 from Uyo to Lagos. Effective immediately, the AON has placed Ms. Emmanson on its ‘No Fly’ list indefinitely. She is hereby banned from flying with any AON member, either domestically or internationally, for life,” the statement read.
Okonkwo stressed that the decision was necessary to protect airline staff and ensure safe and orderly air travel. He noted that such incidents have become increasingly common, citing previous altercations involving Nigerian musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1) on VajueJet and the alleged unruly behaviour of Senator Adams Oshiomhole towards Air Peace staff.
AON warned that it will continue to take decisive action against any passenger who threatens the safety, dignity, or well-being of airline personnel or disrupts flight operations.
