Aguocha Meets With Buhari, Seeks Political Solution for Nnamdi Kanu’s Release

In a bid to resolve the issues surrounding the continued detention and trial of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Hon. Obi Aguocha, Member of the House of Representatives, paid a visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari at his country home in Daura, Katsina State.
During the meeting, Aguocha apologized for the actions and utterances of his constituent, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and expressed his belief in the need for a political resolution to promote understanding and unity. Former President Buhari welcomed the approach and assured Aguocha that he would not oppose a political solution for Kanu’s release.
This meeting is part of a broader initiative led by Aguocha, who had earlier gathered 50 House of Representatives legislators to sign a letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, appealing for a political solution. Aguocha remains optimistic that collective efforts can build a new Nigeria where peace, equity, justice, and prosperity reign.
The visit and the ongoing initiative aim to secure a speedy political resolution and Kanu’s subsequent release, adopting dialogue and non-contentious approaches to resolving national issues.
