As the issues and intrigues arise from the empowerment programme carried out in Enugu by the National Centre for Women Development NCWD, where they were accused of conniving with Amb Ginika Tor-Williams to share the palliatives to the wrong hands without carrying dedicated APC People at the grassroot along; as well as the video produced by the accused, stating her own side of the story, South East foremost political platform, ‘The South East Political Watchdog’ has riddiculed Amb Ginika Tor-Williams with what they called “an ignominious display of insensitivity” in her defence videos.

In a statement signed on Monday by the Group’s National Coordinator and Publicity Secretary, Nze Offiah Thomas and Dr Ezeh Jude, they were amazed at how the National Commissioner for Federal Character Commission could get her self involved in such an abuse of equity and hallowed lies.

They stated that she has ignorantly shot her self on the leg by exposing a shamble that they did without due inclusion of all other stakeholders like religious group, traditional institutions, civil society groups amongst others in the state.

FIRS

“We have seen how naive and senseless some APC leaders can be when it comes to National Issues”

“A Federal Character Commissioner, hijacked an empowerment programme from Abuja and used it to perpetrate evil against humanity by sharing the Slots amongst few of her Party Leaders without considering State Character as some local Government could not get a opportunity “

” We are in severe shock and explicit consternation over how about 70 APC people that were mobilised according to her video in Awgu, Udi, Enugu South, Ezeagu, Igbo Eze North, Nkanu West, could mean over 130 people as reported by the woman through some media outfits which she contracted by herself”

“Is it not a shame that, she cannot do a simple mathematics or could it be that, she actually siphoned those money?”

“She is just an infinitesimal mountebank and a moron encased in a Golden symborium and equally an abecedarian prevarications and deceit “

“APC leaders at the National level should be wary of the kind of people they make leaders and appoint into offices to avoid bringing more shame to the Party whose acceptability in the zone is still in doubt because of people like the said Amb Ginika Tor-Williams “

The South East Political Watchdog Group also called for a probe into the said programme as evidence from the video made and posted on line by the said woman has proven that it was a jamboree.

They called on the National Leadership of the Party, to as a matter of urgency, organise Leadership summit for their South Eastern leaders as majority of them lacks proper use of common sense.

“It is very Clear that the programme was not properly done since, Amb Ginika Tor-Williams can pay for the halls, Foods, decoration and others”

“If she actually did that, then what happens to the funds allocated for the programme?”

“It is also Clear from her video that, people were not trained on anything but given a ₦20,0000 Transport fair for coming to witness what they would use to write off public funds”

“Funds were provided for all those things she mentioned, the training and other expenses by the Federal Government across some selected State in the Federation and we know Enugu’s own cannot be different”

“We are calling for a comprehensive probe of the said programme and onward arrest of the perpetrator of this crime against humanity”

“APC is not known to be like this and people bringing bad image to President Muhammadu Buhari’s Integrity in a region where he is beginning to be loved, should not be left to go unpunished”

The Group also mimicked the APC Empowerment Programme calling for an annulment of embarrassing events in the name of empowerment in the zone.

“We are ashamed that Amb Ginika Tor-Williams could come out open to call ₦20,000 an empowerment, it is an insult to the dignity of an igbo person because, we are not known to be lazy”

“The Federal Government and the Leadership of APC should avoid this type of chicanery and subterfuge on Igbo Nation especially now that we have started supporting APC against other political parties.

The Group however, questioned the sincerity of some APC Leaders in South East and Enugu State on the growth of the Party as they are more PDP than APC.

“We are still skeptical whether people like Sen Ken Nnamani, Barr Sullivan Chime, George Ogara, Joe Mammel. Amongst others are actually in APC or PDP.

” We have from some of the verified names of people claimed to have sent to her by Ambassador Ginika Tor-Williams from them as core PDP people”

“In as much as we preach for all inclusiveness, we also frown at People’s political Double jeopardy as they are killing and miming our democracy”

“They portray people from the region as gluttons when we are not and people who are in APC, should be APC and Not APDP. ” They should focus more on the grassroot as people who are regarded as leaders should not be given what should be shared through the ward chairmen and other Party excos, else the Party will collapse naturally”

A young Nigerian Navy officer, Lieutenant A.M. Yerima, reportedly escaped an assassination attempt on Sunday evening in Abuja, just days after his widely publicised confrontation with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

According to military sources quoted by Vanguard, Yerima was trailed by unidentified men dressed in black and travelling in two unmarked Hilux vans without number plates. The suspicious vehicles allegedly followed him from the NIPCO Filling Station off the Kubwa Expressway to Gado Nasco Way.

Sensing danger, the officer reportedly carried out what sources described as a “strategic manoeuvre” to evade the suspected assailants. The incident was said to have occurred around 6:30 p.m.

The military source added that the matter is already under investigation and is receiving “the seriousness it deserves,” noting that additional information is being withheld to avoid compromising the process.

WCQ Play-Offs: Nigeria Eliminated by Congo on Penalties After 1–1 Draw in Rabat

Nigeria’s World Cup hopes suffered a major setback on Saturday as the Super Eagles were eliminated by the Democratic Republic of Congo on penalties following a 1–1 draw after extra time in their 2026 World Cup qualifying play-off.

Alex Iwobi delivered one of Nigeria’s standout defensive moments with a decisive challenge to dispossess a Congolese attacker during the tense encounter, but his efforts were not enough to prevent the dramatic exit.

The Super Eagles opened the scoring early, capitalising on their strong start to take a deserved lead. Congo, however, responded before halftime, converting one of their few clear opportunities to level the match at 1–1.

Both teams produced chances after the break, but resilient defending and wasteful finishing ensured the game dragged into extra time. Despite Nigeria’s late pressure and Congo’s counter-attacking threats, neither side could find a breakthrough in the added 30 minutes.

FIRS

The contest was ultimately decided from the spot. Congo displayed calmness and precision, scoring their penalties with confidence. Nigeria, however, faltered with a crucial miss that swung momentum to the Congolese, who sealed their progression.

Fans reacted with disappointment after the loss, calling for renewed discipline and urgency as the team looks ahead to future competitions. Football analysts also lamented Nigeria’s missed opportunities, emphasising the need for sharper finishing and composure in high-stakes qualifiers.

Paystack Suspends Co-Founder Ezra Olubi Over Sexual Misconduct Allegations and Resurfaced Tweets

Paystack has suspended its co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Ezra Olubi, following serious allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse raised by his former partner, Max Obae.

The suspension, announced on November 14, 2025, comes amid growing scrutiny of conduct and power dynamics within Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.

Obae accused Olubi of manipulative, coercive, and emotionally abusive behaviour during their relationship, alleging that this extended into the workplace, where Olubi reportedly mistreated subordinates. The claims sparked wide public outrage, amplified by the resurfacing of decade-old posts from Olubi’s X (formerly Twitter) account containing explicit references to bestiality and pedophilia.

In a public statement, Paystack confirmed that Olubi had been immediately suspended pending the outcome of a formal internal investigation. The company reiterated its commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for employees, customers, and partners.

FIRS

The allegations have reignited broader conversations around accountability, workplace ethics, and abuse of power in the Nigerian tech scene an industry long praised for innovation but increasingly challenged to confront issues of misconduct within its ranks.
