…17th June Adoration in honour of slain worshippers at Owo, Ondo, says Mbaka

As a true servant of God that understands that the voice of people sometimes is the voice of God, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, the spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria, has blessed the presidential aspiration of former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi.
In a statement personally signed by him, Mbaka said he was misunderstood and as a “servant of God” his “intention is not to malign His Excellency, Peter Obi’s image, but to pray for him.”

While appealing to Obi’s teaming supporters, the fiery Cleric said: “I give my blessings to the supporters of His Excellency Peter Obi. In any way they feel offended by my utterances or however I was misunderstood by them, I ask for their understanding and forgiveness.

“I am not in any political party but I support good people and good governance. Any good person that God can give us is my choice candidate. I am a servant of God; For the sake of peace, I ask for forgiveness in any way I am misunderstood. And to Peter Obi himself, I ask God to bless him and manifest his will in his life. When God says Yes, who can say No? And when God says No, who can say Yes? I bless Peter Obi and pray for him. I bless my dear fellow Adores and pray for them. I bless the people of God everywhere and I pray that it shall be well with you all.”

He reminded the youths that they’re “the same youths I am praying for, sacrificing for, fighting for, speaking for and working for their integral well being. What the youths are passing through and their conditions give me sleepless nights,” and assured them that he will always be part of their struggles.

Mbaka also said that for “some Spiritual reasons, there will be no all night Adoration program today,17th June 2022. Meanwhile all adores are asked to convene on Sunday 19th June 2022 for our usual 10 am Mass and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Fellowship.”

I call on the adorers and the entire people of God to join hands in praying that God will deliver us from the plans of the devil and it’s wicked agents.

Trump Excludes South Africa from 2026 G20 Summit in Miami

Trump Redesignates Nigeria as ‘Country of Particular Concern’ Over Alleged Christian Genocide

U.S. President Donald Trump has moved to exclude South Africa from the 2026 G20 Summit scheduled to take place in Miami, marking an unprecedented break in the group’s tradition of inclusive participation.

The development follows Washington’s high-level boycott of South Africa’s 2025 G20 summit, which the U.S. skipped over concerns related to violence against white farmers—a situation Trump has repeatedly described as a “genocide.” Fact-checkers and human rights monitors have rejected this characterization, noting that while farm attacks remain a serious security issue, there is no evidence of a systematic campaign of extermination.

South Africa has strongly disputed Trump’s claims, including his account of how the G20 presidency was transferred. Officials in Pretoria say the U.S. delegation had already opted to stay away from the summit, with the eventual handover occurring through an embassy representative rather than formal high-level participation.

Although the G20 operates without strict rules that authorize the exclusion of member states, Trump’s decision raises new questions about the organization’s cohesion ahead of the U.S.-hosted conference. Germany has already urged Washington to ensure South Africa’s inclusion, warning that sidelining a member could undermine the group’s credibility.

The move could also affect U.S.–South Africa relations more broadly. Annual American assistance to Pretoria estimated between $100 million and $500 million may now face political scrutiny.

Enugu State Police have arrested a 30-year-old man, the parents of a 13-year-old girl, and others involved in an unlawful child marriage in Amufie, Enugu Ezike. Authorities reaffirm commitment to enforcing child protection laws.

Enugu State authorities have arrested a 30-year-old man and several others in connection with the illegal marriage of a 13-year-old girl in Amufie, Enugu Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area.

The Enugu State Police Command, working alongside the Ministry of Gender Affairs, confirmed that all key actors involved in the unlawful marriage have been taken into custody. Those arrested include the underage girl, the man she was married to, her parents, and a woman identified as Ezenwanyi, who was allegedly instrumental in facilitating the marriage ceremony.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Concerned Igbo-Eze North Youth (CINY) applauded the swift action of the Enugu State Government, the Ministry of Gender Affairs, and the Nigeria Police Force following widespread public outrage over the incident.

“This arrest reaffirms the state’s commitment to upholding the rights of children and enforcing relevant laws against child abuse, child marriage, and the violation of minors,”
CINY said in its statement.

Authorities reiterated that Enugu State—like the rest of the South-East region—strictly prohibits child marriage, emphasizing ongoing efforts to curb abuses against minors and prosecute offenders.

The Ministry of Gender Affairs also assured the public that the case will be thoroughly investigated and that justice will be pursued in line with Nigerian child protection laws.

USA: Two National Guard Members Shot Near White House, Remain in Critical Condition

Published

The armed National Guardsmen were on patrols when the suspect came around the corner, raised his arm with a gun, and shot the National Guard members.

Two West Virginia National Guard members were shot Wednesday just two blocks from the White House in what authorities are calling a targeted attack. The soldiers remain alive and in critical condition, FBI Director Kash Patel said.

West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey initially announced the soldiers had died but later retracted the statement, saying his office was “receiving conflicting reports.” Local officials also confirmed the troops were hospitalized in critical condition.

The man who opened fire on the National Guard

A suspect, who was taken into custody, was also shot and sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, according to law enforcement officials who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

“This is a targeted shooting,” Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser said, noting that investigators are reviewing surveillance footage.

FIRS

Exchange of Gunfire

According to officials familiar with the investigation, the suspect walked up to the soldiers and opened fire. At least one of the Guardsmen returned fire. Authorities are still working to determine the shooter’s motive, including whether the troops were specifically targeted.

The shooting unfolded on a busy street near the White House. Videos posted to social media showed first responders performing CPR on one soldier as another received treatment on a shattered, glass-covered sidewalk. Police officers were seen restraining a suspect nearby.

Witness Account

Stacy Walters, who was in a car near the scene, said she heard two gunshots before witnessing people running. “It’s such a beautiful day. Who would do this, and we’re getting ready for the holidays?” she said.

Emergency responders transported all three injured individuals to a hospital, according to DC Fire and EMS spokesperson Vito Maggiolo.

Ongoing Tensions Over Guard Deployment

The National Guard’s presence in Washington has been a contentious political issue for months. In August, more than 300 West Virginia Guard members were deployed to the capital following an emergency order by President Donald Trump, who federalized the local police force. Although that order expired, many troops remained on the streets.

Last week, a federal judge ordered the Guard deployment to end but paused her ruling for 21 days to allow the Trump administration time to comply or appeal.

Reactions From Leaders

President Donald Trump, speaking from Florida, vowed that the gunman “will pay a very steep price,” calling the attacker an “animal” in a statement on Truth Social.

Vice President JD Vance, addressing troops at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, urged Americans to pray for the wounded soldiers. “It’s a somber reminder that our soldiers… are the sword and the shield of the United States,” he said.

Mayor Bowser, who earlier in the day announced she would not seek reelection, said her administration is actively monitoring the situation.

Heavy Police Presence

The shooting scene was locked down with police tape as emergency lights flashed overhead. Agents from the Secret Service, FBI, and ATF responded, and at least one helicopter landed on the National Mall while Guard troops secured the perimeter.

The investigation remains active, with officials reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses as they work to determine the suspect’s motive.
