2023 CENSUS: NPC SET TO CONDUCT FIRST DIGITAL CESUS IN NIGERIA

Ahead of Nigeria’s 2023 Population and Housing Census (PHC), the National Population Commission (NPC) has said that 2023 Census will be the first digital Census in the history of Census in Nigeria.

This was revealed during Bloggers and social media interactive workshop for a successful 2023 Population and Housing Census held at the National Population Commission headquarters in Abuja.

The workshop, which took place in Abuja, was aimed at equipping bloggers and social media influencers with the necessary knowledge and skills to report accurately on the census exercise, as well as to disseminate information about the exercise to a wider audience.

Speaking at the workshop, the NPC Chairman, Nasir Isa Kwarra, emphasized the importance of accurate reporting in ensuring the success of the census exercise. He noted that social media influencers and bloggers have a significant role to play in ensuring that the public is well-informed about the census exercise and its importance.

Kwarra further highlighted the importance of accurate data collection in ensuring that government policies and programs are effectively planned and implemented. He emphasized that the census exercise is critical in providing accurate data that can be used for planning and development purposes the national and local levels.

The Workshop covered various aspects of census reporting, including the importance of accuracy, the role of social media influencers in disseminating census information, and the use of social media platforms in reporting on the exercise.

The participants who asked several questions to get clarification on issues bothering on the 2023 cesus excercise commended the NPC for organizing the workshop, describing it as a step in the right direction towards ensuring accurate census reporting.

They pledged to use their platforms to disseminate information about the census exercise to their followers and the wider public.

The 2023 population and housing census (PHC), which is the seventh in Nigeria’s history, is billed to commence on May 3, 2023 and is expected to provide accurate data on the country’s population and housing.
